Page County Page County is a county located in the U.S. state — officially, "Commonwealth" — of Virginia. As of the 2000 census, the population was 23,177. Its county seat is Luray6. Page County was formed in 1831 from Shenandoah and Rockingham counties. It was named for John Page, Governor of Virginia from 1802-1805.
Page County strongly enforces its speed limits, and Rt. 211, the main east-west route traversing the county, is known to have strategiclly placed state police monitoring. Travelers are advised to keep within the speed limit or to bypass entry into the county in its entirity.
